Abstract
This is a cousin of traditional dye plants faraway places as Mexico and Japan. In Mexico is Commelina coelestis, called matlalli, and it's been used as a dye for cotton, and also food dye. In Japan is called aobana, and latin name is Commelina communis- It's been used as an assistant in the Yuzen pinrting for kimonos. 
Description
It's a 50 cm high plant, with cobalt blue flowers that only last one day, maybe some hours if their are under hard sun. So it prefers shadows, and it will start blooming in summer. If autumn and winter is mild it can be perennial.
