This is a traditional dye plant in North and Central America to dye in orange. Is a light fast dye.
Pick the flowers and use them fresh or dried. The more flowers you pick the more the plant gives. Let some good ones to develop seeds for the Library and next year.

Description
This is a very easy plant to grow. If self seeded it will start to sprout in May. You can sow them in seedlings in a greenhouse some days before the last frosts, and then on soil when they have four real leaves. It will start to bloom in summer, and will last until night become cold.
This seeds have been cultivated in the dye garden of a collector in Madrid, Spain, and comes from Mexico.
